ATWS Dharamshala September 1st, 2025: The Department of Education (DoE), CTA, launched a six-day workshop on Career Guidance through Psychometric and Artificial Intelligence at the Administrative Training and Welfare Society (ATWS) in Dharamshala. ATWS is facilitating the workshop with venue and service facilities.

The workshop, scheduled from September 1st to 6th, 2025, aims to equip counsellors with the skills and knowledge to guide students in exploring diverse career options.

The Opening Ceremony was graced by Education Kalon Mrs. Changra Tharlam Dolma la along with a team of DoE Officials led by Head Counsellor Mr. Jamyang Wangyal la.

Mr. Jamyang Wangyal la, welcomed the gathering and introduced an overview of the workshop program including workshop agenda, objectives, participants and trainers.

The workshop is being especially organized after recent review of DoE Scholarship conducted by the department that showed a high percentage of the total populace pursuing only Nursing Career, causing a potential threat to the overall trajectory of the Community.

In her key-note address, Education Kalon Mrs. Changra Tharlam Dolma la emphasized the importance of career guidance and counselling right from middle school level rather than waiting until the students reach Senior Secondary level. “Counsellors must help students choose career options based on their interest and ability, enabling them to become responsible citizens and contributing members of society,” she said.

Further, she highlighted the need for counsellors to maintain confidentiality and observe counselling ethics. Given the critical situations of the community, especially of Tibetans inside Tibet under the brutal Chinese regime, she also urged counselors to encourage students to pursue education courses with broader scope of contributing to community service under the visionary leadership of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

Most importantly, she stressed the urgency of instilling in students good moral conducts as always promoted through DoE’s SEE Learning programs, to create a gender unbiased bully free Society, given the detrimental impact of the bullying behaviors over the entire society.

The Opening Session concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Tenzin Chondhen la, DoE Counsellor where he acknowledged all the concerned individuals and organizations associated with the workshop.

Resource persons from Brain Wonders Mr.  Manish E. Naidu and Founder & CEO of Adventure X, Hyderabad based Social Enterprise Mr. Aditya Subramanium are facilitating the sessions.

The workshop will cover various topics, including career guidance, psychometric tests, and artificial intelligence.

Around twenty-two school counselors from Tibetan schools under STSS, TCV, and THF are participating in the workshop.
